S&K Security Group Achieves SBA 8(a) Certification

S&K Security Group, LLC (SKSG) is proud to announce that it has been admitted into the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program as a certified, Tribally owned 8(a) small disadvantaged business and is now eligible for direct awards up to $100M. The 8(a) program is a business assistance program with a rigorous application process that admits highly qualified firms that are owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

“We are excited to be part of the program and look forward to using 8(a) as a way to grow our capabilities and better serve our current and future customers,” said Doug Gratzer, President of SKSG. “8(a) contracting offers our clients significant savings in time and expense while helping to meet their small business goals.”

The 8(a) program helps thousands of small businesses gain a foothold in government contracting through mentorship, guidance in forming joint ventures, management assistance, and other business counseling. Participants can compete for set-aside and sole-source federal contracts during the nine-year lifespan of their certification.

SKSG is a subsidiary of S&K Technologies, Inc. (S&K), a family of companies owned by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes with headquarters in St. Ignatius, Montana. They provide expert capabilities in Operation and Maintenance Sustainment Services, Integrated Logistics Support Services, Network Operations Center (NOC) Support, Security Operations Center (SOC) Support, and other Comprehensive Security Services.

For decades, the S&K companies have served a global customer base with sophisticated aerospace, logistics, information technology, engineering, construction, technical, and tower/antenna solutions. S&K’s success provides meaningful economic dividends to the 8,000-plus members of the tribal community, supporting programs involving cultural preservation, language revitalization, services for elders, and other social investments.
